Nain – a small town with only 15.000 inhabitants located 150 kilometers east from Isfahan, on the old road to India. The town lives from carpet production even today. Those carpets are considered to be of highest quality.

The typical colors of Nain carpets are blue or ivory. They are mostly blue which is basically dark and rarely brown or red.

The designs are very similar to the Isfahan carpets. Most often the bordure is on the side with thin lines and a few protected stripes.

The number of knots varies between 300.000 and one million per square meter for the wool carpets and up to 1.35 million for the silk models.

Those carpets are considered as some of the best Persian carpets.
